292 out of 449 polling stations have been declared highly sensitive; Sindh Chief Secretary reviews arrangements

Chief Secretary Sindh Dr. Muhammad Suhail Rajput presided over a meeting on Thursday to review the arrangements of by-polls to be conducted on May 7, in which 690295 people will exercise their right to vote.

Provincial Election Commissioner Aijaz Anwar Chauhan, Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho, Secretary School Education, Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners attended the meeting.

Chief Secretary directed all commissioners to ensure all missing facilities at the polling stations.

The meeting was informed that CCTV cameras will be installed at 292 highly sensitive polling stations.

Provincial Election Commissioner Aijaz Anwar Chauhan said that local body elections could not be held on various seats in the province. Now on May 7, elections are to be held at 449 polling stations in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad and Larkana.

Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho said that a security plan has been prepared by the police. More than 6707 personnel will perform security duties in Karachi.

Divisional Commissioners gave briefing on the security and transport plan and the overall situation of the polling stations. (PR)
