Six more scholars of Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam were awarded PhD degrees on Thursday. The Scholars handed over copies of their thesis to the Vice Chancellor at a simple ceremony.
Six agricultural scholars have been approved for awarding PhD degrees in the light of their research.
Syed Rehan Fareed, Department of Soil Sciences, Faculty of Crop Production, conducted research on “Establishment of Principles of DIRS in Apple Orchards in Ziarat District, Balochistan.
Muhammad Ibrahim Kubar researched on “Easy strategies to protect vegetables from harmful flies. Ms. Shamim Ara Memon, Department of Irrigation and Drainage, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, conducted research on “Future Water Demand and Wheat Grain Production due to Climate Change in Sindh Province”.
Ghulam Mujtaba Lakho, Department of Entomology, Faculty of Crop Protection, conducted research on “Importance of Insects in Agriculture and Complete Information on beneficial and harmful Insects for Farmer community”.
Illahi Bux Bhatti, a scholar in the same department, conducted research on “Joint Strategies for Controlling Whiteflies in Sugarcane”, and Ghulam Shabir Keerio of Department of Energy and Environment, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, conducted research under the title “Changes in Nepalese Biosend Filters to Eliminate Sankhio in Drinking Water”.
All the scholars handed over copies of their dissertations to the Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri.
Speaking to the scholars on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor advised all the scholars to use this research for the benefit of agriculture and farmers across the country including Sindh.
Dean Faculty of Agricultural Engineering Dr. Naimatullah Leghari, Dean Crop Protection Faculty Dr. Jan Muhammad Marri, Director Advanced Studies Dr. Mubeen Lodhi, Dr. Imran Khatri, Dr. Mehrunisa Memon and others were present on the occasion. (PR)
