The theatre season begins with William Shakespeare’s Hamlet in Sindhi at the National Academy of Performing Art at the end of August (26th & 27th) in Karachi. William Shakespeare’s Hamlet in Sindhi was adapted and translated by Mirza Kalich Baig in 1923 and this is part of celebration of 100 years of Hamlet’s adaptation in Sindhi.

The classic drama has been directed by Wajdan Shah, who himself will be starring.

People who love Shakespeare, tragedies, regional languages, arts and theatre in general, are expected to flock to national academy of performing arts for a full-fledged first of its kind, classic text and rendition “شھزادو بھرام”. “Whether you understand the language or not, witness an endeavor like never before,” a press release said.

The duration of the drama is 2.5 hours and the venue is National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA). The entry is possibly only through ticket but the organizers have announced fifty percent discount for students.
