Lines and lines said nothing

People had said goodbye to words.

GOODBYE TO WORDS

In the bivouac of words

I found some of them had dug trenches

And were tunneling there.

Surprised I asked a few reporters

What had happened

Why were words so scared?

They might be hiding here

For fear of bombardment

Or misuse by crafty politicians

A few words changed their outfit

And wore a veil too when

They went out for some urgent purchases.

A few veiled words were being

Taken to the hospital

In an ambulance

They have been sodomized

By some powerful tongues,

Winds whispered in my ears.

I came across underground tunnels

In the dictionary in which

A whole civilization was taking shelter.

Some words had put up

Their shops in the Mall

And were selling illusions and lies

People, unaware of the unholy war

Against words were busy

In their ignorant affairs

In the central Museum

Goodness was hanging from the ceiling

Truth was being administered Sacromania.

Some armed Guards were on duty

To check the movement

Of words

There was scare in the bivouac

Lines and lines said nothing

People had said goodbye to words.
