Separate funds have been allocated for awards and prizes for the Vice Chancellors and Professors

While the government of Sindh has decided to outsource to a third party certain services related to conducting the examinations due to massive irregularities in the education boards of the province, the department of Universities and Education Boards distributed awards and prizes among the officers and employees of the universities and boards for their ‘outstanding performance’ on Monday.
Provincial Minister for Universities and Bards Ismail Rahu also attended the award and prize distribution ceremony held in the office of department’s secretary Muhammad Mureed Rahmoon. The Vice Chancellors of all the public sector universities also attended the ceremony.
According to an official announcement, 59 employees and teachers of 26 varsities and 11 employees of education boards received the awards and prizes. A total of Rs.5.5 million were distributed among the employees.
Official handout further stated that a separate allocation of funds has been made for awards and prizes for the Vice Chancellors and Professors of the varsities.
Teachers and employees of Sindh Workers Welfare Board Schools stage demo against outsourcing
Meanwhile, the teachers and employees of schools being run under Sindh Workers Welfare Boards have started agitating against the outsourcing of its education section. The employees and teachers staged protest demonstration on Monday April 3, 2023 outside the Workers Welfare Board at Nursery area of Karachi.
The protesting employees and teachers chanted slogans holding the placards.
They advised the teachers and employees of Workers Welfare Board Schools across the province to stage protest demonstrations. (PR)
