Talent Hunt: Karachi wins final of Sindh Region Wrestling Competitions

The wrestling competitions were organized by Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam in collaboration with Higher Education Commission.

Karachi won the final of Sindh Region Wrestling competition organized under the Talent Hunt Youth Sports League at the Sports Complex of Sindh Agriculture University.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission.

The Karachi region, won 4 Gold and 4 Silver medals with 100 points in different categories, by winning the first position, and has been declared the winner of the Sindh region.

SAU-Wrestling-Sindh-Courier-2After fierce competition four players from Karachi won Gold Medals – they are Ziaullah in 61 kg weight category, Hamza Khan in 70 kg weight category, Muhammad Farooq in 79 kg weight category, and Sujawal Khan in 86 kg weight category.

Players of the Hyderabad region won three gold medals – Shoaib Leghari in the 65 kg category, Muhammad Sami in the 74 kg category, and Mohi-ur-Rehman in the 92 kg weight category. Hyderabad got 77 points and finished the second position with three silver medals and two bronze medals.

Sukkur, the third-largest city in Sindh, won one gold medal, two silver medals, and five bronze medals and secured the third position. While Mohammad Moosa of Larkana won the gold medal in the Open weight category.

The players who won gold and silver medals during these competitions will be included in the team of Sindh province, who will later participate in national-level sports.

SAU-Wrestling-Sindh-Courier-3SAU-Wrestling-Sindh-Courier-4Addressing the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri said that national-level games have been started at Sindh Agriculture University. “The young athletes learned from the Sindh Agriculture University grounds and Sports Complex will soon represent the national-level games.”
