Three major universities of Sindh have pledged to build an agriculture museum and state of the art machine for extracting fiber from bananas while a joint venture will be designed with MH Panhwar Farms to play role in Agri-tourism.

It was also agreed to assist the farmers of Sindh for acquiring modern technology and access to the global market.

The Vice Chancellors and experts of three Sindh universities, who met at a reception on Sunday, agreed to join hands for agriculture development in Sindh, manufacturing of by-products, e-marketing, agri-tourism, and preservation of the agricultural heritage.

The reception was hosted by Co-Chairman of MH Panhwar Farms, Khesana Mori, near Tando Jam, in the honor of Dr. Fateh Marri, Vice Chancellor, Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam, Dr. Saleem Raza Samo, Vice Chancellor, Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering Science and Technology Nawabshah, and Dr. Bhai Khan Shar, Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Allah Bakhsh Soomro University of Art, Design and Heritage Jamshoro. They also visited experimental farms and Agri-tourism points at MH Panhwar Farm near Hatri.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Fateh Marri, VC SAU said that to support modern agriculture in Sindh, progressive farmers now have to support small farmers. He appreciated that the experts of MH Panhwar Farms are also successfully working on Agri. e-Marketing, Agri-Business, and Agri-Tourism in Sindh.

Dr. Saleem Raza Samo, VC QAUEST, said that his university would develop a new machine by adding new functions to make the banana fiber extraction machine more modern. He said that MH Panhwar Farm experts have successfully tested low-sugar varieties of mangoes and strawberries.

Dr. Bhai Khan Shar, VC SABUADH said that an agricultural museum would be set up in collaboration with Sindh Agriculture University to preserve the heritage of Pakistan, including Sindh.

Ghulam Sarwar Panhwar, Co-Chairman, MH Panhwar Farms, while briefing the guests, said that research is being done on different fruits in both the farms including new varieties of mango, nursery, banana, jackfruit, jojoba, and strawberry. Apart from medicinal plants, model points are being set up in Hatri for agri-tourism where nurseries of different species of flowers have also been set up.
