Ubauro town closed to protest against murder of a Cop

Some unidentified armed bike riders had gunned down Cop Sultan Rind about 13 days back

Shutter down strike was observed and protest rally and sit-in was staged on the call of Rind community alliance

A complete shutter down strike was observed and a protest demonstration was staged in Ubauro town of Ghotki district on Friday against the failure of police in arresting the assassins of Constable Sultan Rind who was shot dead by unidentified persons about 13 days back. The armed men, riding the bikes had opened fires on Sultan Rind.

A number of political and social activists including lawyers and members of religious organizations took part in protest demonstration.

The shutter down strike call was given by Rind Ittehad, a community alliance. All the bazaars and trading centers remained closed. They also took out rally from central Imambargah, which was participated by citizens and traders also. The protesters staged sit-in at town’s main roundabout and set the old tyres on fire.

Protest-Ubauro-Sindh-Courier-1Imtiaz Hussain Rind, Allahyar Rind, Raza Mehdi, Zulfiqar Shah Bukhari, Ghulam Rasool Rind and others told that the police have not arrested the killers of their own colleague even after 13 days. They deplored that not a single police officer have so far contacted the heirs of deceased constable.

Protest-Ubauro-Sindh-Courier-2The protesters warned of spreading the agitation to other parts of country if the assassins were not arrested within a week. “We will also block the national highway,” the said.

Later, the Station House Officer of Ubauro held talks with protesters at local press club and assured of arresting the culprits.
