Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has approved the accreditation of BE degree program of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering (FAE) of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam on Level-II.
Now the Agricultural Engineers of the University will no longer need to take more courses in foreign countries to prove the quality of their degree, the SAU press release said on Friday.
Pakistan Engineering Council during its 108th meeting has approved the accreditation of BE degree program for the 2K18 batch to level II, under the Outcome Based Education (OBE)system, and in this regard a notification has been issued.
According to the Washington Accord, the B.E. (Agriculture) degree of FAE-SAU has gained global importance, and it will no longer be necessary for the professional engineer of the SAU to take courses there to prove the importance of his degree for a job in foreign countries.
In this regard, the assessment of the faculty was also done by the accreditation team of Pakistan Engineering Council, which was considered satisfactory and the batch of the academic year 2018 has been included in level II.
In another notification, Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has renewed the license of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering as Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB) for conducting various pieces of training, seminars, and workshops for all engineers along with Agricultural Engineers of Sindh Agriculture University to acquire Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points.
In this context, the dean of the faculty, Dr. Altaf Siyal, told that in the past this type of training for professional engineering was conducted in other institutions, but after this certification, we have conducted enough training and now this year we are offering 08 training/seminars having 0.5 to 1.5 CPD points.
Dr. Fateh Marri, Vice Chancellor has said that BE degree of FAE is now of great importance, after which our agricultural engineers will find it easier to get jobs in public and private institutions in the country as well as abroad. (PR)
