The protesters warn of widening the scope of protest if the authorities failed to dispense justice   

Karachi: A large number of people, gathered under the banner of Thar Sujag Sath and Sindh Facebook Friends, staged demonstration on Sunday outside Karachi Press Club to condemn the brutal murder of a Thari worker by the private security guards of a coal company and other atrocities being committed by them.

The members of various other civil society organizations including students, lawyers, writers and others also participated in the protest demonstration against beating to death one Dodo Bheel by the guards for a reported theft incident.

The protesters, holding placards and banners, also chanted slogans demanding arrest of killers of Dodo Bheel and taking them to task.

Kelash Meghwar, Ahmed Soomro, Bhagwandas Kewlani advocate, Jastal Rai advocate and others who led the protest, accused the coal companies operating in Tharparkar, of depriving the local people of their rights, buying their lands at cheap rates and neglecting the locals in jobs. They also blamed that the administration of Tharparkar district was also supporting these companies for violation of human rights. .

The protesters alleged that earlier an engineer Haresh Kumar had lost his life, as the coal companies have no emergencies facilities for their own employees and workers.

They further demanded that the educated youths of Tharparkar, holding degrees of various universities, should be provided jobs in the coal companies.
