Alumni get-together of the 89 batches of Sindh Agricultural University held

Vice Chancellor of Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur Dr. Tahmina Nangraj has said that the number of girls getting higher education in the universities of Sindh is not satisfactory and urged the alumni of the Sindh Agriculture University to play a role in creating a favorable environment for girls to enter universities in their areas.

She said this while addressing the alumni get-together event of the 89 batches of Sindh Agricultural University on Wednesday night.

Dr. Tahmina said that the Sindh Agriculture University is equipping the children of poor families of the province with higher education, and is playing an important role in changing the lifestyle of many youths of Sindh. She said that the alumni should support the development of their Institution and poor students.

The former president of the teachers’ organization SAUTA Professor Pir Ahmed Naqi Shah said that our landlords and knowledgeable people associated with the agriculture sector are also reluctant to give agricultural education to their children.

“They should change the behavior as the development of the country and the future of the youth is related to agriculture and agro-based industries,” he said.

Prof. Dr. Muharram Qambrani said that our alumni should help their future generations and deserving brilliant students by establishing scholarships under their academic batch.

Advisor Planning Dr. Syed Ziaul Hasan Shah, Dr. Aijaz Soomro, Shabbir Ahmed, Dr. Abdullah Sethar, Dr. Ahmed Nawaz Tunio, Dr. Zulfiqar Abbasi, Dr. Mahmood Rehman Jamro, Dr. Abdul Rehman, Dr. Lal Chand, Dr. Mansoor Bughio, Dr. Ayaz Lashari, and others also spoke, Director of University Advancement and Financial Assistance Dr. Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar, Sajjan Memon, Mazhar Khushik, Shakeel Babbar, Ghulam Sarwar Siyal, Lala Sajjad, KB Mangi and a large number of alumni participated the event.

Shields and cultural gifts were awarded to the Ph.D. scholars and at the end of the program, Rahat Faqir, the son of renowned singer Sadiq Faqir performed during the Musical concert. (PR)
