Institute of History and Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan discovers the stone remains

A group of employees of the Institute of History and Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan discovered the stone remains of the first inhabitants of the Earth in the Baherden district of the Akhal region. According to Turkmen experts, the found materials belong to the Proterozoic and Paleozoic eras, reports Orient.tm.
This was reported by the chief researcher of the Institute Kakajan Bayramov in his article on the pages of the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
The finds were discovered on Mount Gozlydag. They are the shells of ammonites and mollusks such as trigonia. They are found in this area in large numbers. The age of the remains is estimated at an average of 570-230 million years, there are also earlier finds up to 2.7 billion years old. The copies were handed over to the Institute of History and Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
The original goal of the 9-day scientific expedition was to study the historical, ethnographic, cultural, economic, everyday characteristics of the population of the Baherden region, to get acquainted with historical monuments, holy places, housing, crafts and folk traditions of the villagers and collect materials about them.
