 Faculty, Deans and Chairmen of academic departments discuss various proposals of introducing modern curriculum, house job for veterinary graduates, enhancing quality of research

Tando Jam: Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) faculty have proposed to include modern curriculum in various departments of the University, making the academic and research quality more effective, providing internships to the students in agricultural farms, public and private institutions and industries.

An important meeting of the Faculty, Deans and Chairmen of academic departments of the Sindh Agriculture University held Wednesday in the Senate Hall of the University with Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri, Vice Chancellor, in the chair, discussed proposals.

The participants of meeting also proposed organizing the job fairs and house jobs for veterinary doctors and developing the linkages with industry and academia.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri said that internship opportunities should be provided to students, and MoUs will be signed with agricultural institutions, departments, agro-based industries, micro financing banks, modern agricultural farms, so that employment opportunities can be created for the graduates of the university, especially in Fertilizers, Pesticides, Seed, Agricultural Engineering, IT, Poultry, Livestock, Dairy Industries, Food Industries.

“We are trying to ensure that at least 25 percent of the students in the first phase get internships and their duration should be more than a month. In this regard, the students will be equipped with the subjects and training required by the industries,” he said,

Agri-University-Sindh-CourierDr. Marri said that a Student Resource Center has been established for various types of awareness in higher education, job and other healthy activities.

Dr. Jan Muhammad Marri, Prof. Dr. Zaheer-ud-Din Mirani, Dr. Allah Bakhsh Kachhiwal, Dr. Zaheer Nizamani, Dr. Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar, Registrar Ghulam Mohiyuddin Qureshi, Dr. Saba Ambreen Memon, Dr. Pinjal, Dr. Ahmad Nawaz Tunio, Dr. Habib Magsi , Dr. Javed Sheikh, Dr. Imran Khatri, Noorunisa Memon, Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Jamro, Dr. Nasir Sheikh and others suggested for Improving the quality of education, student-attendance, training and scholarships for students and other matters.

Dr. Qamaruddin Chachar, Dr. Syed Ghiasuddin Shah Rashdi, Dr. Abdullah Arijo and others were also present on the occasion. (PR)
