Sukkur IBA University and the Information Sciences & Technology Department of Sindh Government sign agreement

Sukkur IBA University and the Information Science & Technology Department of the Government of Sindh have signed an agreement for executing the ‘Information Technology Industries Readiness Boot Camp’ program.
The agreement was signed on Monday by Prof Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University, and Asif Ikram, Secretary to Government of Sindh, in the presence of Tanzila Umi Habiba, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh on Information, Science & Technology, during a ceremony held at Karachi.
The “Information Technology Industries Readiness Boot Camp” agreement is aimed at promoting and enhancing the readiness of the information technology industry in the Sindh province of Pakistan.
The objective of the IT Industry readiness boot camp program is to equip 1500 youth graduates equivalent with the latest IT Industry skills required to fill the shortage of skilled resources in Pakistan and around the world.
The training will cover seven of the most in-demand technologies: MERN Stack Development, Web Engineering, Cloud Solution Architecture, Mobile app development, SQA, Data Sciences with Python and Gaming & Animation.
Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, Vice Chancellor, Sukkur IBA University, said that “The IT industry readiness boot camp program will be executed by Sukkur IBA University in collaboration with Information Science and Technology Department, Government of Sindh in different districts of Sindh i.e., Karachi, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazir Abad, Larkana, Sukkur and Khairpur. “Each course will consist of 300 hours of training (90% on technical skills with embedded free lancing skills and 10% on soft skills tearing i.e., communication, team building, Ethics, human rights and Entrepreneurship, Vice Chancellor added.
The agreement between Sukkur IBA University and the Information Science & Technology Department of the Government of Sindh signifies a collaborative effort to boost the IT industry in the region and create a conducive environment for IT innovation and entrepreneurship. This partnership is expected to contribute towards the development of the IT sector in Sindh and facilitate economic growth through the promotion of technology-driven solutions and services.
The signing of the agreement was attended by high-level officials from the Information Science & Technology Department of the Government of Sindh, Sukkur IBA University, and the office of the Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh on Information, Science & Technology, highlighting the commitment of the government and academia towards fostering the growth of the IT industry in the region.
