Sindh Agriculture University Tondo Jam organizes free medical camp in collaboration with Self-Help Society and the Pakistan Society of International Medicine.

Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tondo Jam, in collaboration with Self-Help Society and the Pakistan Society of International Medicine (PSIM), organized a free medical camp for rain victims in Goth Rozuddin Marri of Union Council Haji Sawan Khan Gopang of Hyderabad Rural on Wednesday.

The transport facilities were also provided to bring the rain victims from different areas to the camp.

SAU-Medical-Camp-Sindh-Courier-1SAU-Medical-Camp-Sindh-Courier-3The medical camp was inaugurated by the former vice chancellor of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Dr. Bikharam Devrajani, Prof. Dr. Aijaz Soomro, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar and others.

General Physician Dr. Bekha Ram Devrajani, Skin, Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Cardiovascular Specialists examined the patients and provided free medicines.

Special diagnostic rooms for women and children were established during the camp, where more than 800 patients of the area, including women and children were treated and free medicines were provided to them. The doctors of Kunar Oilfield of OGDCL and the staff of Medical Dispensary of Sindh Agriculture University also rendered the services in the camp.

SAU-Medical-Camp-Sindh-Courier-2SAU-Medical-Camp-Sindh-Courier-4Speaking to the media on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Bikha Ram Devrajani said that due to the rains, various diseases including skin, dengue and malaria are found in 80 percent of the patients, while due to lack of proper treatment facilities, diabetes and blood pressure patients were also affected.

He said that various diseases including gastro, diarrhea were found in the children. “We are trying to organize these camps so that the rain victims can get treatment as soon as possible,” he added.

Professor Dr. Aijaz Ali Khoharo, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences of Sindh Agriculture University, said that on the instructions of Dr. Fateh Marri, Vice Chancellor, university experts are working on the damage caused to agriculture due to rain, while the university has set up free medical camps for rain-affected animals and birds, where the university provides free treatment and medicines.

SAU-Medical-Camp-Sindh-Courier-5Dr. Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar, Director of Advancement and Financial Assistance, giving details about the camp, said that the free medical camp has been started after the establishment of a relief camp by the students’ self-help society of the university. “More medical camps will also be set up in other areas and a camp will be set up in Tando Jam for the treatment of rain-affected pregnant women and children.”

Dr. Shahzad Nahyoon, Asadullah Marri, Muhammad Ashraf Rustamani, Dr. Faisal Ansari and others were also present on this occasion. (PR)
