Work Underway on 32” Water Supply Line Project for Lyari

The project will cost Rs.960 million; Minister LG Nasir Shah inspects the work

Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Shah said on Saturday that 27 million gallons of water will be provided per day after the completion of the water line project in Lyari.

The project of the new water line in Lyari is a gift from the Sindh government to the people of Lyari and will further improve the water supply in Lyari town.

Minister LG and Chairman Water Board Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said this during his visit to the project of a new 32-inch diameter water line from Old Sabzi Mandi Sindhi Hotel Bridge to Bakra Piri Bridge.

Minister reviewed the progress of the ongoing work on the project and made a detailed inspection.

Special Assistant to CM Waqar Mehdi, PPP Leader Syed Najmi Alam, CEO Water Board Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, CEO Water Board Engineer Asadullah Khan, Sikandar Zardari, Zafar Plaju, Muhammad Riaz and other senior officials of the Water Board were also present.

CEO Water Board while giving a briefing to the Minister said that the project cost will be Rs.960 million while the completion of the project will provide Lyari Town with 27 million gallons of water per day.

Nasir Shah said that the Sindh is giving all the funds for the Lyari project, and directed the concerned authorities that the Lyari water project should be completed soon.

He directed to CEO Water Board that strict legal action should be taken against those who steal the water of the citizens and FIR should be registered against them so that no one can dare steal the water of the people of Karachi. (PR)
