Since moving to the United Arab Emirates in 2007, Fatemeh Hossein Bor has established herself as a prominent figure in the UAE’s art scene. A holder of the prestigious UAE Golden Visa, Fatemeh’s artistic journey is a testament to her passion, dedication, and versatility in the realms of calligraphy, painting, and interior design. Her works, characterized by a blend of traditional and modern elements, have captivated audiences across the UAE and beyond.

Educational and Professional Background

Fatemeh’s academic journey began with a degree in Law, complemented by a diploma in Graphic Design and Computer Studies from a university in the UAE. However, her passion for art eventually led her to pivot her career towards painting and calligraphy. This transition was driven by her innate love for artistic expression, which she began to explore more deeply through various platforms, including virtual spaces and live performances.

Before fully embracing her artistic path, Fatemeh gained valuable experience working at Aljaber Gallery in the UAE. Her time there not only honed her professional skills but also fueled her passion for the arts, ultimately steering her towards a career that aligned with her true calling.

Artistic Specialization and Style

Fatemeh’s artistic prowess is most vividly expressed through her calligraphy. Her unique style, which marries traditional calligraphic techniques with modern design elements, stands out particularly when executed on canvas with gold leaf. This combination of materials and methods creates visually stunning pieces that resonate with viewers, drawing them into a world where the past meets the present.

Fatemeh’s portfolio is extensive, with nearly 40 exhibitions and live performances across the UAE, Turkey, and Iran. One of her most notable live performances took place at Deerfields Mall in Abu Dhabi, where she transformed a three-meter wall into a breathtaking butterfly-shaped calligraphic masterpiece. The piece drew significant attention from the audience, showcasing her ability to engage and inspire through her art.

Another highlight of her career was her participation in Index 2022, where she collaborated with six other artists to create a 28-meter wall painting representing the seven Emirates. Fatemeh was responsible for the Emirate of Ajman, blending painting and calligraphy in a piece that earned her recognition in Magzoid magazine and the Khaleej Times.

Fatemeh’s work was also prominently featured in World Art Dubai 2022, 2023 and 2024. In the latter year, she performed a three-day live calligraphy session, culminating in a painting adorned with verses from Surah Noon and Qalam, using calligraphy and gold leaf. The piece mesmerized viewers, who paused to appreciate the intricate details and spiritual depth of her work.

Ramadan and Other Artistic Endeavors

The holy month of Ramadan in 2023 provided Fatemeh with another unique opportunity to showcase her talents. Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority invited her for a live performance at Jabal Hafeet in Al Ain, where she completed a wall mural in just one day. The mural, themed around Ramadan, was a testament to her ability to infuse cultural and religious significance into her art.

In addition to these live performances, Fatemeh held a two-month-long calligraphy exhibition at the Ibis Hotel, where a large collection of her works was on display. Her ability to captivate diverse audiences through her art has also led her to suggest and create custom calligraphy for guests at various events and celebrations, adding a personalized touch to her artistic endeavors.

Workshops, Educational Initiatives, and Completed Projects

Fatemeh is also committed to sharing her knowledge and skills with others. She has conducted numerous educational workshops and classes for both children and adults, imparting the intricacies of calligraphy and painting to aspiring artists.

Her artistic touch can be seen in various calligraphy and logo designs for companies, wall paintings for restaurants and commercial centers, and even in the creation of artistic sculptures for cultural institutions. Additionally, she has designed and decorated beauty centers and wedding halls, showcasing her versatility as an artist and designer.
