The alumni of the 89-batch of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences who completed their degree 30 years ago at SAU pledge to support the university in terms of scholarship, endowment fund, student internship, and employment opportunities.

Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) has completely changed, as today it has modern infrastructure, and new degree programs have also been started, but due to economic problems, parents from many parts of the country, including Sindh, are not able to pay the educational expenses of their children.

Vice Chancellor SAU, Dr. Fateh Marri said this while addressing the get-together organized on Sunday by the alumni of the 89-batch of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences who completed their degree 30 years ago at Sindh Agricultural University.

He said that the graduates from the university can play a major role in the development of their mother institution. “The alumni working in various positions should come forward to pay scholarships for the poor students studying in the university and to develop the departments.”

SAU-Get-Together-Sindh Courier-1Dr. Marri said that the distances have been reduced due to information technology but the trend of competition in research, talent, inventions, skills, and opportunities has increased in the world, and at the same time the environment, climate change, disasters, food security, global warming, and other problems have also increased.
Dr. Farooq Hassan Mateen, Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and alumni of SAU said that SAU is main institution in the field of veterinary science all over the world including Pakistan.

Former Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, and Ex- Professor of SAU Dr. KB Mirbahar said that new ideas can be generated along with the development of the institution through such programs. “Alumni should also play a role in the development of his mother institution”.
Dr. Noor-un-Nisa Marri, Dr. Ahmed Nawaz Tunio, Dr. Sahib Shahani, Dr. Hakim Jalbani, and others in their speeches said that after 30 years when they all came together at their university, it felt like they have returned to their home. They said that the university will be supported in terms of scholarship, endowment fund, student internship, and employment opportunities.

SAU-Get-Together-Sindh Courier-2Dr. Amir Bux Kalhoro, Dr. Abdullah Arijo, Dr. Maqbool Memon, Dr. Bachal Bhutto, Syed Asif from KPK, Dr. Mirbaz Jaffar from Balochistan, Ali Jafari from Kashmir and others also addressed the program. The alumni in London, Canada, UAE and other countries participated online and addressed.

At the end, a musical event was held, in which the well-known singer Tameer Hussain performed. A large number of alumni from Sindh, Balochistan, Kashmir, KPK, and Islamabad participated in the event, while the guests were presented cultural souvenirs. (PR)
