Deserted Vineyard – Poetry from Pakistan

The world is like a vineyard and women are its nightingales.

Without women, the world is like a deserted vineyard.

imagesDeserted Vineyard

There was a beautiful and green vineyard

It was surrounded by palm trees fence.

In the middle of it was a flowing stream.

And on the bank of the stream,

There were flowers of different colors.

Nightingales built nests on vines and palm trees.

They were chirping and singing in it.

And looked colorful and beautiful.

Sometimes they would sit on the flowers,

And sometimes they would drink water.

They were harassed by a hunter.

And moved quickly elsewhere.

The hustle bustle in the vineyard was over.

And it looked colorless.

The world is like a vineyard and women are its nightingales.

Without women, the world is like a deserted vineyard.

So we should take care of the rights of women۔

And should give them a prominent place in society۔

Intimacy

One noon, when the sun shone bright,

Absorbed in deep thoughts I strolled.

The garden around me bloomed with flowers.

As I sank down on a bed of blossoms,

The scent of the flowers filled my mind,

Showering petals, leaves and hanging bows around,

The beauty of Nature spread over my face,

The music of beauty I heard in solitary solace.

***

The Moon

At night, I see the moon,

Looks Like a beautiful balloon.

Its color is silver white,

Presents a charming sight.

Sitting silently, in the sky,

Smiles at me and rely.

With joy, spreads its light,

Which is why I feel delight.

In a season of hotness and cold,

It is friend of children and old.

It neither eats not drinks,

Sometimes expands and shrinks.

Shares love and avoids hate,

Sometimes appears early and late.

I wish I were a nightingale

I wish I were a nightingale,

Flying all day over hill and dale!

Looking down on the many faces of earth,

In search of those who suffer agonies since birth.

And I would sing to them a mellow song,

Make them happy, end their sadness long.

In search of such sufferers I would fly again,

To ease the sufferings of victims of pain.

Two Nymphs

It was the rainy season and the evening was falling.

There was a high mountain in the middle of the forest.

Whose upper level was rough and uneven.

And there was space around it.

I was sitting alone on the mountain.

And reflects the luxury of worldly life in my mind.

I was fond of collecting more and more goods.

The purpose of my life was to eat, good car and good food.

If one was fulfilled, one would be busy looking for the other.

Due to which I felt mental and physical fatigue.

But I was helpless in the face of worldly greed.

Because it was in front of my eyes

And I had a weak belief in the life of the Hereafter.

Since that life was not in front of my eyes.

 Suddenly I fell asleep deeply.

And I began to take a loud snore.

Then when I looked to my left, there was the ugliest Nymph.

Whose face was rough and dreadful.

The hair was scattered and filled with scum.

The dress was extremely naive and old.

Seeing her got my senses.

And I was trying to run away from her,

But she was approaching me.

Then suddenly I looked at my right۔

So there was a very beautiful Nymph standing.

Whose eyes were like a diamond!

She was dressed in silky dress and her eyes were bent.

Eyelids were golden and cheeks emerged.

She seemed to be a model of shame.

Physical appearances were so beautiful.

I tried to be close to her.

But she went away from me

I was watching her with jealous eyes

Suddenly the voice came from the unseen.

That you have a worldly life on the left side,

Which is fond of you.

And on your right is the life of the Hereafter,

To whom you do not believe.

You preferred the life of the world over the life of the Hereafter.

The world’s wealth has come close to you.

And the wealth of the Hereafter went away from you.

Never Say Die

Twinkle, twinkle my lovely star,

Although from me, you are very far.

The star says, ‘I despite my remoteness,

For your victory I look I confess.

Seek knowledge young friend and work hard,

That is man’s destiny from birth to graveyard.

Shine forever like me, never say die,

Truth your shield shall be never lie.

A Cuckoo

Wind blew from North, South East, West,

Dusk enveloped the entire forest,

I was lost in whispers by the fountain,

There, I saw a cuckoo on top of mountain,

Aha! I tried to touch him cooly cooly,

But, he flew away slowly slowly.

Eyes were round and body was inky black,

He did not look woeful, worry and slack.

Always remained himself neat and clean,

Drank fresh water، Ate fruit and bean.

Mind was full of lovely imagination,

He was his example in new Creation.

Flew slow and fast on his strong wings,

Very skillfully and beautifully he sings.

There was such a melody in his sound,

The listeners were stunned all around.

Supported the oppressed and hated oppression,

In case of unintentional mistake, make a concession.

Did not suffer in any misconception

Against dishonesty, disorder and corruption.

Built his nest on tree near the stream,

Used to see peaceful and sweet dream.

He lived his life with purity and piety,

Savior of peace and tranquility in society.

Nature And Peace Of Mind

Due to the intense heat, trees were depressed.

Water in their veins had dried up.

I saw the lake of blue and clear water.

On the shore of which there was a green banyan tree.

Which was very dense and spread far.

Some branches were kissing the forehead of water.

I was drenched in sweat.

There was sand on the shore of the lake.

I picked up the sand in my hands.

And scattered on a small part under the tree.

Then sprinkled water on the sand and spread the sack.

And lay down

Put your elbow on the ground and put your head on top of your hand.

After a while the sweat dried up.

I was feeling cold.

Felt freshness in my imagination.

White herons were swimming in it.

Birds of different species were resting in their nests in the tree

Suddenly a thirsty deer came running.

And from near me,

He jumped into the water of it.

Due to which water splashed on my face

I grabbed the hanging branch and started swinging the swing.

Sometimes I would go up and sometimes down.

The breathing was up and down.

And I was having fun.

Immediately, I was lost in my childhood memories.

The peace of mind that nature gave me for free.

A king cannot attain such peace even by living in a palace of gold.
