Theatre continues to act as a bridge between cultures, where human stories from around the world are woven into a shared artistic language. From Dhofar in the Sultanate of Oman, a new international theatrical experience dedicated to duodrama emerges, bringing together creativity, dialogue, and cultural exchange on a global stage.
Under the slogan “Where the Stories of the World Are Woven,” the first edition of the Ofeer Nights International Theatre Festival will take place in Dhofar Governorate from June 6 to 11, 2026, with wide participation from Gulf, Arab, and international countries. The festival aims to highlight the diversity of theatrical experiences, foster intercultural encounters, and strengthen artistic exchange in Oman.
The final selection phase of the festival resulted in nine theatrical productions representing several countries: Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq, and South Africa.
Sindh Courier’s participation will include media coverage through photo documentation as well as critical readings and analyses of the theatrical performances and festival events.
The festival will also benefit from extensive media partnerships and coverage from newspapers, magazines, and digital platforms from inside and outside Oman, including Al-Ghad Media Group, Lubanah, Al Roya, Al Youm, Asdaa, Al Rai, Al Bilad, Al Watan, Al Akhbar, Youm7, 7Art Magazine, Funoon, Al Youm News Agency, Al Naba Electronic Newspaper, Sindh Courier, the Italian magazine Saturno, the Spanish platform Proyecto Garlo, Noon Magazine (Egypt), Otto Media Foundation, Al Najah Media Channel, and the Dhofar Events website, in addition to several Arab and international cultural and media platforms.
This strong media presence confirms the importance of the festival as an international cultural platform that highlights the Omani, Gulf, Arab, and global theatre scene, while reinforcing cultural exchange among peoples through the universal language of theatre.
“Ofeer Nights” is expected to become a significant theatrical milestone within Dhofar’s cultural landscape and an initial step toward establishing an international duodrama theatre festival.
