Ambassador of Tajikistan Sharif Zoda Yousuf Toir said on Thursday that Tajik investors are highly interested in various sectors in Sindh province of Pakistan.
Tajik Ambassador expressed these views in a meeting with Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori held at the Governor’s House on August 8, 2024. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, investment opportunities, and the exchange of delegations, among other topics.
Governor Sindh highlighted that Tajik investors can reap substantial benefits by investing in the province, emphasizing that the SIFC initiative is providing all possible support and assistance to investors.

Prior to the meeting, Governor Sindh and the Tajik Ambassador visited the IT courses, Bell of Hope and the ration drive projects.
Ambassador Sharif Zoda Yousuf Toir commended the IT courses, stating that such contemporary programs can significantly benefit the youth. Additionally, the ambassador participated in the tree plantation campaign under the Governor Sindh’s initiative by planting a tree.
Earlier, a ceremony for the distribution of GRASP matching grant cheques was held at the Governor House. The grants exceeding 55 million rupees were distributed to small business owners.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Tajikistan, Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir, CEO of PPAF, Nadir Gul, Chief of ITC Geneva, Robert Skidmore, DECI Director, Espen Joaquin Oliveira Gomez, among other representatives from financial institutions.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori congratulated the grant recipients, noting that it is encouraging that the institution has already distributed matching grants worth over 350 million rupees in the province. He highlighted that such exemplary initiatives will enable small business owners to further develop their enterprises. He also launched a food safety campaign during the event, praising it as a commendable step.

Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori acknowledged the contributions of the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the European Union (EU) to Pakistan’s economic development. He mentioned that food security has been a significant challenge due to the devastation caused by floods and emphasized the importance of SME revival to overcome these challenges. Projects like GRASP are game-changers for Sindh, he added.
CEO of PPAF, Nadir Gul, speaking at the event, stated that SMEs are the backbone of the economy and that GRASP will help in their development. He described the grant distribution ceremony as the realization of a dream, marking a step towards a bright and prosperous Sindh.
Chief of ITC Geneva, Robert Skidmore, noted the exceptional talent of Sindh’s SMEs and observed that empowering these businesses marks the beginning of a new era of performance and progress. These businesses are not only shaping their futures but also laying the foundation for regional economic recovery, he added.
DECI Director Espen Joaquin Oliveira Gomez expressed pride in being part of this journey and reiterated the commitment to working for the sustainable development of the province and its SMEs. He extended gratitude to the European Union and PPAF.
Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir of Tajikistan praised the efforts made for the people and encouraged exporting goods to neighboring countries to boost trade. He assured cooperation from his country in facilitating these efforts to improve people’s lives. (PR)
